HOW DO I JOIN THE UTEP FORENSICS TEAM?
The first step in joining the team is to enroll in COMMUNICATION 2201, Practicum in Forensic Debate, and COMMUNICATION 2202, Practicum in Forensic Individual Events. Both classes may be repeated for credit and are offered every fall and spring semester in the Department of Communication listings. Enrollment in at least one Forensics class is mandatory, for classroom training is essential to the preparation and selection of those students who are chosen to represent The University of Texas at El Paso in intercollegiate tournament competition. Enrollment in both courses is encouraged for those who hope to receive financial assistance from the Forensics Program Service Scholarship fund. Students who enroll in both the debate and individual events classes are eligible for higher service awards.
