E-Corps Mission Statement :

The Urban Student Entrepreneur Corps (E-Corps) was established to make entrepreneurship education and culture accessible throughout UTEP and the Greater El Paso Region. Specifically, E-Corps will form a cadre of students to work on entrepreneurship development projects. As part of a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, this initiative is proposed as a benchmark program for other communities to model. The E-Corps will consist of students from throughout the University who have received instruction in one or more entrepreneurship courses and who have participated in at least one experiential project. Members of the E-Corps will typically work in teams partnering with UTEP students to participate in hands-on projects working directly with entrepreneurs and indirectly with one or more community groups, such as El Paso’s Empowerment Zone, the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Development Center, and other agencies that support entrepreneurship. Corps members may be assigned as interns to these organizations on a case-by-case basis.
